    • The Mask
    • The oldest masks that have been discovered are 9,000 years old, being held by the Musée "Bible et Terre Sainte" (Paris), and the Israel Museum (Jerusalem), but most probably the practice of masking is much older. Masks in various forms – sacred, practical, or playful – have played a crucial historical role in the development of understandings about "what it means to be human", because they permit the imaginative experience of "what it is like" to be transformed into a different identity (or to affirm an existing social or spiritual identity). This D A I S Y  J A M E S Wallcover: The Mask, captures just how powerful an impression they can make.

A forest of palm trees. They won't eat the palm trees (they think it's garbage) but you don't have to feed them either. So there's a win. A perfect match for people who like giraffes. A lot.

    • In Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist cosmology there exists a sacred five-peaked mountain, that is considered to be the center of all the physical and spiritual universes. It is called Mount Meru, and on it grow trees known as ‘Jambu’ (Jumboo) that are said to bear trees as big as elephants. It was this tree a London zookeeper thought of when he gave an African bush elephant his name. This elephant would become famous for giving rides to visitors, and when the zoo wanted to sell it, 100.000 schoolchildren wrote to queen Victoria beging her to put a stop to it. Elephants have always fascinated us. They are big, mostly gentle, and come from far away (the hearts of india or the bushes of sub sahara africa). They seem almost mythical and magical, and seemed the perfect fit for this mystical D A I S Y J A M E S wallcover.

D A I S Y  J A M E S went to capture the birds and the vibrance of life at the waterfront in this Wallcover - The Waterfront, and vibrant it looks. On sunny days, most humans are shade lovers as well; As we don't photosynthesize we have no use for all that solar energy, it just warms up our already dangerously warm brains. The earth loves shade too, and it would be nice of us to let it keep some more of its trees, so they can provide it shade too! This D A I S Y  J A M E S Wallcover is homage to shade. And to trees.
