  • The Past Quick View

    • The Past
    • It is sad that a view like on the wallcover, with birds in abundance, will soon be a vision of the past. Most of the animals that we have come to share the world with are all but extinct. The seas will soon be truely be fishless, and the land we'll share with small rodents. The yellow colours on this wallcover make it look like it's one of them old images hanging in schools' classrooms. Those that were made in simpler times, times where learning all the animals around a pond seemed very decent natural education. With our new Wallcover: The past D A I S Y  J A M E S tries to capture beauty of nature in general, but with a hint of nostalgia, and the fears that in a century, old, worn, discolored images are all we have left of what once was.

    • The Shade
    • Under a dense forest canopy, light intensity can be very low; Everything down in the understory has to live in the perpetual shade. On sunny days, most humans are shade lovers as well; As we don't photosynthesize we have no use for all that solar energy, it just warms up our already dangerously warm brains. The earth loves shade too, and it would be nice of us to let it keep some more of its trees, so they can provide it shade too! This D A I S Y  J A M E S Wallcover is homage to shade. And to trees. And a subtle reminder to keep your head cool.

    • The Timeless Women
    • Looking through the curtains are some faces that might look familiar. D A I S Y  J A M E S went out of her way with this spectacular design. One instantly recognizes the famous Lisa Gherardini, her crooked smile known far and wide, or the mysterious ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’, whose worldly counterpart will probably remain unknown forever. The Florentine Leonardo da Vinci, and the Dutch Johannes Vermeer, acquired a lot of fame over them. Maybe you can also spot Cecilia Gallerani, or Artemisia Gentileschi the first female painting artist. All women from ages ago, a time before photographs, but on canvas, and in some cases wood, their beauty and character have been preserved to the point they peek right trough your wall in the 21st century. An impressive masterpiece.

    • And now for something totally different. D A I S Y  J A M E S deemed it time for a change of pace and goes on to amaze with this psychedelic design. What at first sight appears a simple pattern, quickly has to admit to being more than it seems, and it is remarkable how easy it is to see different things in its rainbow-colored shapes. It can resemble a tall building with windows galore, a piece of film with characteristic squares on either side, or even a road network for a futuristic mega city!  Whoever lays their eyes on it is sure to surprise you with an interpretation of their own, which is what pretty things are all about.

    • The Aviary
    • Birds have fascinated us since time immemorial. The fact that they can fly, a feat that we have only managed to achieve a short century ago (and even then just with the help of machine), has always be the source of great envy. Birds are very symbolic too. The romans could foretell the future just by looking at the kinds of birds that flew above them. The owl stands for wisdom, the dove for peace, while the peacock is a universal symbol for fertility. People have come to keep birds as well, and while some birds can be trained not to fly away, like falcons, most must have their wings cut like poultry, or be locked up in a cage. As many people can see the irony in admiring these birds for their sense of freedom, and then locking them away, D A I S Y  J A M E S now offers the best of two worlds. With ‘Wallcover: The Aviary’ you can enjoy these marvelous creatures, without harming any of them.

It's big enough to spark anyone's imagination. We let it inspire us and the result is as mysterious as it is pleasing on the eye. See for yourself the marvels that are hidden in this new design.
