    • The Platinum
    • Platinum means 'little silver' but except for the colour it's actually not like silver at all. Platinum is one of the least reactive metals. It has remarkable resistance to corrosion, even at high temperatures, and is therefore considered a noble metal where silver isn't. It's a very 'cool' metal though, used in a lot of high tech engineering applications. And it's this coolness we tried to grasp in this latest D A I S Y  J A M E S wallcover: The Platinum. Hard lines and the silverest grey we could find.

    • The Berlin Blue
    • Berlin blue (also known as Prussian blue) was the first modern synthetic pigment. It has a beautiful dark blue colour, and is the traditional blue in blueprints. Apart from adding colour to the world, when orally administered, Prussian blue is used as an antidote for certain kinds of heavy metal poisoning. As such, it is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most important medications needed in a basic health system. We at D A I S Y J A M E S love it for its deep blue colour and how it can make your wall something special.

    • Remember those old Windows screensavers? Those with the beams crisscrossing through each other until you end up with something like this? A very crowded cage-like structure with lines going from en to everywhere. I was always fascinated by it and it seems to have been a big inspiration for this wallcover. As you can see it works perfectly around corners, enhancing the effect, really. A very interesting wallcover you won't see every day. D A I S Y J A M E S likes to cover your wall with tiny details and has certainly succeeded here.

    • Sometimes wallcovers are very specific, and only work one way. Other times they are more adaptive and can go in different colors to suit as many a wall as possible. It's an efficiency thing. Sometimes working smart is the way to go, especially if the endresult is still up there. This more abstract wallcover: The Palette comes in 6 variations and is a true D A I S Y  J A M E S. • The blue color from Delft and the 'Delftware had wide renown in europe and even beyond, and while it was really just a way to imitate the hugely expensive Chinese porcelain, the skill and techniques involved in making them are still impressive. Bear in mind that the Chinese had spend over 3000 years perfectionizing this method of making ceramics, while the potters in Delft tried to emulate the same thing in a few decades just to fulfill popular demand. One could even say that while failing to make a perfect copy, they made something truely their own. Just don't forget it all started around 2000 BC. when Chinese potters set out on a quest to have all their pots, vases and tableware, look as pretty as they could.

  • The Aztec Quick View
    • The Aztec Quick View
    • The Aztec
    • The Aztec didn't care much for gold, nor for silver. Until the Spanish came. When they did, the native Americans found that Europeans would go through great lenghts to get their hands on the precious metals. A blessing at first, as they could sell the apparently worthless stuff for products they could actually use, which would soon turn into a curse as history has proven. The abundance of gold in their lands, however, stirred the imagination of many Europeans, conquestadors and artists alike. We at D A I S Y  J A M E S are happy to bring a part of legendary El Dorado onto your wall.
