The Aztec

The Aztec didn’t care much for gold, nor for silver. Until the Spanish came. When they did, the native Americans found that Europeans would go through great lenghts to get their hands on the precious metals. A blessing at first, as they could sell the apparently worthless stuff for products they could actually use, which would soon turn into a curse as history has proven. The abundance of gold in their lands, however, stirred the imagination of many Europeans, conquestadors and artists alike.
